Airport Information

The Detroit Metropolitan Airport has a lot of great information for anybody arriving or departing from their airport. Make sure to check out their traveler information page, which offers great information for departures, arrivals, travelers on connection flights, and general information.

Looking for the pet relief areas? The Detroit Metropolitan Airport has four such options (two in each terminal):

In the McNamara Terminal, the first is located outside the international arrivals area before security. Upon exiting the International Arrivals area, turn right, proceed down the sidewalk, and then turn right again.  The second relief area is within the terminal, post-security adjacent to Gate A-34.  Look for the sign, “Service Animal/Pet Relief Area”.

In the North Terminal, you will find the relief areas before and after security areas. The pre-security area is located on grassy areas at each end of the Departures Level (Upper Level) curb. Exit the ticket lobby and proceed to the designated grassy area.  The second location is within the terminal, post-security across the concourse from Gate D-16. Look for the sign, “Service Animal Relief Area”.

Here are maps for both terminals:

Testimonials

"Blake and Raven had a wonderful journey. I don't think the trip phased them in the least. They are happily settled and enjoying life in Georgia. Kenny did a wonderful job taking care of them both. He was very conscience and caring, and made sure they were fine before leaving.

Thank you for your service. I will definitely recommend your business to anyone needing to relocate their pet family. "

Susan

"You guys run a very professional operation and the people could not have been nicer. Thanks for organizing all this. Our puppy is finally home."

Carol

"I would like to thank you for the wonderful service transporting our four legged kids. It was not just transporting, your updates, the photos and most of all for that moment of happiness when they arrived. Priceless!"

David

"Samantha is doing quite well. We were very pleased with your service. She is a very important member of our family and we were very stressed about her being on such a long flight. Thanks to all the personal assistance you gave me to prepare her, everything turned out better than we could have expected.

If we should ever need to fly out pet again, I can’t imagine using any other service. I would highly recommend Starwood Animal Transport to everyone!"

Robin

"Thank you again for all of your help. We were thrilled with the service you provided. Left to our own devices, I would have had no idea how to get our little friends over. You made it so painless and easy. From coordinating vaccinations and pick up in the states, to en route updates. Everything was completely seamless. And our cats are doing great. They didn’t take long to adjust at all, so I’m sure they had a good trip. We’re so glad to have them here with us and thank you so much for all your help!"

Genevieve

"Mimi and MuiMui are doing great, they got used to the new place pretty quickly. Thank you for organizing their trip and keeping us updated throughout the time."

Adrian

"Duke and Lana are at their new home now. They are both happy but tired! Glad they were well taken care of by all of you. Thank you for your hard work and assistance through the whole process."

Meghan

"Good to have our Diesel back. He is doing well, trying to adjust to the Houston heat. Tina was great! It all worked out better than I had anticipated. Thanks."

Amy

"I’d like to thank all of your for you excellent care of my dogs (and me too!) during this move. Believe me, I have a newfound appreciation for pet transport services! I had never moved with pets before where I needed assistance with flights, etc., and it’s quite a production, isn’t it? I am especially grateful for the updates that you sent while we were waiting for confirmed space on the flight; while the pups were clearing customs in Quito; and during the process of caring for them and sending them onward from Quito. Thank you Sherry for taking care of Bruce and Moxie in Houston and for preparing them and delivering them to United Airlines."
